Charleston Falls in Pictures

The Story
Charleston Falls is a 37-foot-tall plunge waterfall in Bethel Township, Miami County, Ohio. The Charleston Falls Preserve is one of the 18 Miami County Park District units.
The rock strata is the same as the ever popular Niagara Falls. Because of that some call it Minature Niagara.
The water originates from several underwater springs several miles upstream. The water exits the plunge pool and travels a mile to the Great Miami River. The Great Miami River flows into the Ohio River west of Cincinnati. Then, the water that started underground in Miami County goes to the Mississippi and into the Gulf.

View a short movie about the falls, not exciting, but after a few seconds of watching, close your eyes and listen. Let nature take you to a quiet place in your heart and mind.
